The closest we come to having a philosophy is summed up in the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of a coffeehouse -
Cof-fe-haus: noun: an establishment that sells coffee and usually other refreshments and that commonly serves as an informal club for its regular customers. We want every one to join the club.
